Obras de teatro "Plants at home"

     Los alumnos de 1ºESO-A de la asignatura de inglés, junto con su profesor Carlos Muñoz, han redactado el guion y representado obras de teatro en las que las plantas eran parte fundamental de la trama. 

    A pesar de no tener experiencia previa haciendo teatro en inglés, los alumnos has disfrutado mucho elaborando sus propios personajes, su propia historia y representándola ante sus compañeros. 

    Os dejamos aquí algunos de los guiones de las mismas:

VICENTE MONTOYA

- Some years ago one boy called Fernando Montoya had a baby that received his named after him: Vicente Montoya. He works in a grocery store with his son and the wife of his son. The son has a wife called Cintia. Later, they have twins called María and Carmen. One day they were carrying the fruits from the grocery store and this happened:

- Fernando: Hi! Can you help me to plant cherries?
- María: Hello grandfather! Yes of course, but… We have to plant a lot of plants today, and mum and dad are very stressed.
- Cintia: Good morning Fernando! Come on into the garden and plant with us!
- Carmen: Mum… there is a problem… dad cuts his finger…
- Cintia: What?! Come on to help he! 

- Vicente: Help please!

- María: Dad, how did you cut your finger?
- Vicente: With this broken flower pot. I am very nervous, please help me.
- Cintia: Put this rag on your finger. Are you better now?
- Vicente: Not really… I am very aching.
- Fernando: Ok guys, don’t worry about that. Where do we plant the cherries?
- María: Do you like the place next to the carrots?
- Carmen: No, I think it's better next to the apples.
- Cintia: Ey! Don’t fight girls. Put the cherries next to the carrots, and these persimmons next to the brocoli.
- Vicente: Yes, and then water the plants please.
- María: Ok, sorry mum.
- Carmen: I have a watering can, María let’s go to water the plants.
- Fernando: Ok, so Cintia and me can, go to plant the cherries and the apples.
- Vicente: Yes, next Monday the carrots will be grown.
- Dad, you have green fingers, so this is so easy for you, come on!
- María: Perfect, at two o’clock everyone here, ok?
- Fernando: Ok honey, goodbye!
- Vicente: Bye! Oh, but… What about me guys? Dad? Cintia? Girls?...

Finally, Vicente was alone because all of the family were doing things in the garden. Bye!

  DINNER WITH FAVOUR

ALBERTO:Hi mum, hi dad,I'm very excited because tonight my friend Favour,is going to eat dinner with us .

HEBA:Yes son, all is going to be prepared for dinner.

TIMA:What time is he coming home?

ALBERTO:Is it okay if he comes at six o'clock and then we play with the ps5?

TIMA:Okay son.And I have a surprise for you ¡uncle Joaquin is coming home!  

ALBERTO:¡Ohhh mum what a surprise!  

HEBA:And I have another surprise , ¡grandma is coming also!  

ALBERTO:Mum ,what are we going to eat ?  

HEBA:We are going to eat meat and kidney pie and   Spinach salad.Is it alright?  

ALBERTO:It's my favorite salad,thanks!  

 HEBA:There is some ice cream if you want .

           3 hours later …

        DING DONG

TIMA:Hi,Favour.Come in 

FAVOUR:Hi,thanks.

HEBA:Hi Favour.

ALBERTO:Hi, how are you?

FAVOUR:I'm fine. I have brought roast cassava.

ALBERTO:Ohhhhhh,amazing.

TIMA:Guys, go wash your hands.

 

        DING DONG

HEBA:Tima, go to open the door.

ELISA AND JOAQUÍN:Hi!!!.

TIMA:Hi, we are waiting for you.

HEBA:Come on,go to dinner.

 

        a few minutes later in the dinner…

JOAQUIN:Favour,explain how you have cassava.

FAVOUR:I have a garden in my house. In my garden I  cultivate the cassava tree and water it every day with a watering can. 

ELISA:mmm… itś delicious.

JOAQUIN:Yes, it's very delicious.

ELISA:A long time ago I liked to grow plants like lettuce, beets, carrots...

GRANNY`S FUNERAL

 
Garry: Noooo!, nooo!, why you?
Mark: WHAT HAPPENED, WHAT HAPPENED?
Garry: PENNY… SHE’S GONE!
Mark: NOOO!!!

(One week later)

Steve:Well, what flower should we put on the Granny’s coffin
Mery:I think that the best flower to put on the coffin of grandma is the…
Jhonny: Marijuana!!!
Garry, Steve, Mery Mark and Luna: NOOOOOO!!
Johnny: Why not?
Luna: It’s illegal to put marijuana in a coffin
Jhonny: ok, ok…
mery: I think granny would like to have roses in her coffin, they were her favorite plants.
Luna: that is a good idea
Garry: I like it
Mark: Well, but I prefer some poppies
Luna: she had daisies in the balcony
Mery: In granny's kitchen there were sunflowers
Steve: What agency do we contract with?
Luna: With the Green Fingers agency.
Johnny: And at what time?
Steve:The best day for me is Monday, because it is the only day when I don't work
Garry: Ok, the funeral will be the next Monday at a quarter to seven
Everyone: Ok
Luna:Who's gonna water the plants?
Steve: Me!, I like plants
Mark: With what tool??
Steve: With a watering can and some tools
Mark: Who's gonna dig the hole?
Johnny: Me please!, I love it, because I`am a expert with the shovel
Steve: In that case, I’ll see you on Monday, I'll wait for you there and I hope we will have enough  flowers.

AT THE FUNERAL
Luna: Today we are here to honor the death of Penny Tucker.
Mery: Does someone want to say something for her?  Jhonny?
Johnny: Is it me or the grandmother looks like a garden.
Mark:  Yes it's true  we have gone too far.
